Mendip Hospital Cemetery is the burial site for 3.000 patients from the Somerset and Bath County Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Each was buried not with a headstone but with a numbered grave marker. The cemetery itself is now Grade Ii listed as it is a nationally unique site of 3 acres complete with a mortuary Chapel. The care of this place and the research associated with it is all done by volunteers. To find out more about volunteering with us or to arrange a visit or to become a Friend, contact us through our website https://mendiphospitalcemetery.org.uk
