WCN Trishaws
Our Trishaw project has now been running successfully for over a year. Thanks to our dedicated team of 14 volunteer pilots, we have provided more than 200 rides for local people, working closely with The Lawrence Centre and other care homes and community organisations across Wells.
The Trishaw offers people who may be lonely, isolated, living with dementia or memory loss, or experiencing limited mobility the opportunity to enjoy a relaxing ride around our beautiful city. It's a chance to reconnect with the community, enjoy the fresh air, and create special memories with family, friends and volunteers.
Our Trishaw is also a familiar sight at community events, including Wells Carnival, the Lantern Parade and many other local celebrations.
Best of all, every ride is completely free of charge.

We're always delighted to welcome new volunteer pilots. If you'd like to find out more about the role or arrange an informal chat, we'd love to hear from you.
In 2023 WCN took delivery of its first Trishaw
With thanks to the generous sponsorship and grants from Mendip District Council, Somerset Community Foundation, The Lawrence Centre and the Blair Foundation we are delighted that this project will get underway in early 2023
