Wells Kindness Week
A small city with a big heart
Monday 9 to Sunday 15 November 2026
This November, organisations, charities, community groups and businesses across Wells will come together for the very first Wells Kindness Week, an initiative launched by The Bishop’s Palace.
The week will celebrate the kindness already happening throughout our city and encourage everyone to get involved—whether through a community event, a thoughtful gesture or a simple act that brightens someone’s day.
Wells Community Network is working with local organisations to bring together details of the activities and acts of kindness taking place during the week.
Upcoming Events
Monday 9th November
The Bishops Palace
Outreach session to local care home
Tues: Visit from local art group and a theme of kindness in our Tues at Noon service (anyone can come along to the service at Noon in our chapel - no need for an admission ticket)
Wed: Being Kind to Yourself workshop (invitation only)
Thurs: Bunches of flowers / plants grown in our gardens will be left as free gifts for people around town
Fri: Coffee morning for organisers of kindness events in Wells (invitation only)
All week: We will also be putting a random acts of kindness calendar up on our website for people to download for free and have random acts of kindness idea slips left on our cafe tables/in the palace/in the shop to inspire people www.bishopspalace.org.uk

Wells Library
Throughout the week, Wells Library will provide free bookmarks and positive affirmations to be decorated and then people may either take away to give to someone or leave them inside a book for someone else to find.
Tuesday 10th November

1st Wells Guides and Rangers
The Guides will create some food products to donate to organisations in the city as an act of kindness.
Wells Bus Users Group
Will clean Wells Bus shelters
Wednesday 11th November
Wells Community Network
We go back to our roots and check in on the people we have supported over the years.
We know that sometimes a simple phone call can make a huge difference. A friendly voice asking “How are you?” can let someone know that they haven't been forgotten and that their community still cares.
Throughout the week, we will contact past service users to have a friendly chat, see how they are doing and find out whether they need any help or support.

We would love to hear from charities, community groups, schools, organisations and local businesses that would like to support Wells Kindness Week.
